Лишнее, типа Настройка Audio-MIDI, можно убрать. Оч удобно. Но 90% используемых программ закреплено за Доком. Я использую утилитку TigerLaunch — в тулбаре выпадающий список с программами. Но мне проще запускать знакомые программы по названию (например, мне проще написать Transmit, чем связанные с ftp слова), а те, которые я не часто использую — искать по иконке. Все равно примерно я помню, какая программа что делает. Тоже хорошая идея.

Скажем я установил новый фтп-клиент и сразу прокоментил его как "файлы заливка фтп ftp upload" и т.д. Тогда Спотлайтом в разы станет легче искать. Просто я люблю колонки в Файндере, и мне везде с ними удобнее (никаких лишних столбцов нет, а все плюсы списка налицо).
